Sorbent NIKET on the basis of Nickel Ferrocyanide selectively removes from aqueous solutions of cesium ions, and thallium, to a lesser extentions of transition and other metals. The presence in the solution of sodium and potassium ions does not reduce the capacity of the sorbent for cesium.
Sorbent NIKET is an inorganic sorbent based on nickel ferrocyanide. Available in two versions: NIKET and NIKET-K (composite).
NIKET-K is a microparticle nickel ferrocyanide, chemically fixed on the granules of natural aluminosilicate (opal).
Nickel ferrocyanide selectively removes ions of cesium and thallium from aqueous solutions, and also ions of transition and other metals. The presence in the solution of sodium and potassium ions does not reduce the capacity of the sorbent for cesium.

Removal of cesium radionuclides under static conditions (an addition of sorbent into the solution, followed by stirring and separation) NIKET is recommended in an amount of 0.5 - 1% of volume of the cleaning solution. If contact time is not less than 2 hours, the recovery rate of ions is not less than 99%.
In a dynamic mode, it is recommended to use NIKET-filtering solution with the speed of 10 column volumes per hour at an height of sorbent layer at least 30 cm. The optimum ratio of height to diameter of the sorbent column is 2.5 – 3.5.
